Oh Kerry Oh Kerry...Not So Far From Truth

Now what he said may have been a bit harsh, but most folks don't like the truth. It is well known that many people who go to the military are there for lack of education.

I am responding to remarks by John Kerry stating that:
"Education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, and you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well, If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

Okay Okay..that can be looked at several ways. One is that he is calling our troops uneducated. Two, he is stating that in our country, if you don't have an education, the other opportunity is the military. Or even three, what ever he was trying to get across, did not quite make it..LOL

In my opinion, even before I heard is explaination was to go with two. I have had a few friends join the military. They are not stupid, or uneducated, but the trick of it is that they went so that they could get MORE education. Our country dangles that "Oh if you join we will give you a college education." Well my friends didn't get scholarships and they couldn't afford to go to the college they wanted to. Some just didn't know what to do with their lives, but they were not dumb, just lost.

John Kerry in a way was right...If you don't have that drive, that motivation during your schooling, or maybe you just aren't the kind of person who learns best in a class setting, what are you left with....that carrot in your face saying "We will get you there, just enlist."

SO essentially, "Education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, and you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well, If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

Sad....oh so sad...but guess what..in it's own twisted way...true...

I think that Bush should be ashamed of himself trying to hide behind the aspirations of those striving to better themselves...and you know what...just between you and I...it's not Bush..it's those he works for...Do you really think Bush made this up himself..? Do you really think with statements like "The men and women who serve in our all-volunteer armed forces are plenty smart and are serving because they are patriots..." (Who in the hell says Plenty smart anymore)

It's been going on for a long time...but not everyone will speak up about it...as a politician..Kerry should have worded it better instead of making it seem like it only applies to THIS war...

Picture posted to represent the confusion we have been placed in about the war....who and what the hell are we fighting..do we even know...The guy satnds proud holding a Japanses flag..but you know what...if you told us to fight the Japanese, Chinese, Africans, Canadians...we would still have that dumb look on our faces...saying the same stupid phrase... I laugh now, but inside I sigh...
