My Sucky Teen Romance Filmmaker Q&A! By age 10, Austin-based filmmaker Emily Hagins' short films had drawn the interest of Aint it Cool News headgeek Harry Knowles. At 12, she premiered her first horror feature "Pathogen," at the Alamo Drafthouse, having won a Texas Filmmakers Production Grant to finish the film. Following this, she became the youngest ever guest of honor at CONvergence 2007 in Bloomington, Minnesota. After her second feature, "The Retelling" premiered in Austin she jumped into production on her vampire satire My Sucky Teen Romance, which premiered at Austin's prestigious South By Southwest in 2011 and received glowing reviews. | | Next stop on the My Sucky Teen Romance tour is New York's brand new Gold Coast International Film Festival, taking place June 1-5 on the North Shore.
